The Staff
My name is Jonathan Reiman, AIFD, CFD ICPF, Owner/Designer of Twig Floral Designs. I with my two children Lane and Emma, call Ava Illinois our home.
After being raised in a home with great influences in the arts, I began my small business in 2000 with an inventory purchase from another event decorator. With their inventory in hand I then created my first business Blue Moon Decorating. At that time, I decorated for weddings and small events out of my home.
A year or two later I was given the opportunity to purchase Memory Lane Florist located in Willisville Illinois. While in Willisville, I developed my skills in fresh flower design and wedding trends. After six years of successful business I was able to purchase my next adventure, Sew Calico Country Shoppe located in Steeleville Illnois. Sew Calico was a home décor store specializing in seasonal and everyday decorating items for the home. I moved my florist shop from Willisville to Steeleville shortly after the purchase. For the next seven years Memory Lane and Sew Calico shared the same location making it Steeleville’s only Florist and Home Décor store.
In March of 2014 I seized the opportunity to expand my business to a bigger market by moving both stores to the Murdale Shopping Center in Carbondale. With the move I combined the names of both businesses into one Twig Floral Designs.
While in Carbondale I decided to enroll myself and my staff into an Illinois State Floral Association Boot camp. Thinking that I was helping educate my staff, I quickly realized I was the one who needed to be "educated." With a new found passion for floral knowledge, I began my journey towards becoming an AIFD Certified Designer. In 2016, I became an Illinois Certified Professional Florist (ICPF) and also became the Illinois Designer of The Year for 2016. In July 2016, I was recognized by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) as a Certified Floral Designer (CFD®) and was inducted as a member of AIFD® in July 2017.
For the past three years, I have been a member of the ISFA Boot Camp Educational Team. I am also an active member of the Illinois State Florist Associations Board of Directors. Currently holding the position of Vice President.
In November of 2018 the decision was made that it was time to come home. Twig Floral Designs was re-opened in my hometown of Ava located on Main Street.
